The 50th Reunion has come and gone and judging by the comments made and posted on Facebook, it was a huge success!
Friday started with a fun Golf Tournament which showed the most participants we have had in recent reunions. We had a wonderful social on the Friday night at Franklin's Backyard Bayou and Grill and the weather was just perfect! So much chatter and laughter! It was a huge crowd and everyone could be seen making connections with old friends (literally and figuratively)!
Saturday morning, several classmates gathered to help decorate at Club Westerner which is a beautiful dance hall now. We were all busy putting out table cloths, balloons, helping setup a photo booth, setting out memorabilia, assembling the table centerpieces, setting up the registration table with nametags, putting out the silent auction items, and setting up tables for our food! There are many things that happen behind the scenes of this event. Saturday evening, all of our classmates began to gather. There was a sense of excitement in the air as well as a sense of familiarity with classmates we had formed bonds with long ago. The music was playing and the conversations ensued. It felt as if no time had passed since we last saw each other and there was a genuine appreciation that we were all there! We used every ounce of time we had at the venue and then it was time to part ways until the next reunion.
I hope everyone had the time of their life recapturing the spirit of the Class of 74. I know I did! Go Stings and go Class of 74! May God bless you and keep you until we meet again!
